Rubatex R-27780
R-27780 is a high-quality fast-drying, quick-setting, brushable neoprene contact adhesive that has been designed to produce a strong permanent bond when used with a variety of porous and nonporous substrates. It has a good adhesion to concrete.
Description
R-27780 is a high heat resistant product that gives excellent adhesion to rubber, foam, metal, wood, particleboard, decorative laminates and many other substrates. The product is used as a contact adhesive. Surfaces to be bonded should be clean, dry and free from dirt, oil and other foreign debris. After application to both substrates, the adhesive is dried until it is tacky to the touch but does not transfer to the finger. This is usually about 5-10 minutes but varies with ambient conditions. The substrates are then mated and sufficient pressure is applied to insure that intimate contact is made across the entire bond area.
An alternative method is to apply adhesive to both surfaces and allow to dry fully. Both sides can then be reactivated with heat to approximately 120°F and pressed together. This method will produce a bond with greater green strength than the contact bond method.
R-27780 is flammable and as such bears a red caution label.
Shelf Life: 6 months in original sealed container and stored at normal room conditions.
