Butterfly Valves

A butterfly valve is a valve that is used for cutting off or managing liquid/gas flow. A butterfly valve operates similar to a ball valve allowing for a quick shut off, but the closing mechanism is in the shape of a flat disk. The flat disk will turn either parallel or perpendicular 90 degrees to allow the most unrestricted flow possible through the valve. Butterfly valves compared to other valves are generally lower in cost to other types of valves; they are also light in weight so less support is required.
